How to Enroll

Filling out the on-line contact form is the first step in the application process. You will be contacted by our staff to arrange an interview to begin the application process. Or you can call 620-241-959 to start the application process. The online contact form does not guarantee placement in the classroom.

To qualify for a funded slot in the McPherson Program:

The family must live within the boundaries of Smoky Valley USD 400, McPherson USD 418, Canton/Galva USD, Moundridge USD 423, or Inman USD 448;
Meet federal & state guidelines for a funded slot
The child must be at least three years old by August 31.

Enrollment
To enroll, you must provide a copy of your child's birth certificate, immunization records, and medical card. Proof of family income is also needed to meet funded programming eligibility requirements.

Applications are accepted throughout the school year. If no opening exists, the new student's name will be placed on a waiting list. As openings occur, new students may begin at any time during the school year.

Health
Children are required to have a physical exam and up to date immunizations upon enrollment into the program.

Family Services
Parents are given the information about services available in the community. Early Childhood will then act as an advocate for the family to obtaining needed services.

Education
Children succeed in Early Childhood by participating in activities which are developmentally appropriate for the individual child.

Parent Involvement
Parents have the opportunity to serve on committees, attend meetings and help make decisions regarding the Early Childhood program. Parents are encouraged to serve as classroom volunteers whenever possible, and also to accompany the class on field trips throughout the year.

Note: we do follow the school district policy for out of district residents.
